Required Materials (to be included with all applications)
1. Page #1 – Cover sheet that includes the name of the scholarship and your name
2. Page #2 - Completed Common Application
3. Page #3 - Student resume or profile
4. Page #4 - Personal statement of educational & career goals (300-500 words)
5. Page #5 - Attach an unofficial copy of your current 7 semester transcripts
6. Page #6 - Attach a letter of recommendation from school personnel
7. Page #7 - Attach a letter of recommendation from someone other than school personnel

letters)
** Note: Students or parents may include a sealed explanation of any special
problems or unusual circumstances which make it difficult to contribute towards this
student's continuing education.
AWARD SELECTION:
The award recipient will be notified to attend the Los Molinos High School Scholarship Award Night on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the LMHS Gym.
DUE DATE:
Submit the completed application to the Los Molinos Guidance Office on or before April
15.
Late applications cannot be accepted.
KEN BREWER MEMORIAL AGRICULTURE AWARD
I. NAME
This scholarship award shall be known as the KEN BREWER MEMORIAL
AGRICULTURE AWARD.
II. NUMBER AND AMOUNT OF AWARDS
One or more awards will be given each year, with the committee having sole
discretion.
III. PURPOSE
It is the hope that these awards may be continued annually in perpetuity and serve
as a goal for aspiring students of the Los Molinos High School and will be of
material assistance to some students who might otherwise find it impossible to
continue their education.
IV. USE OF THE AWARD
The award may be used by the recipient (s) to pursue his or her studies or develop
his or her talent in any accredited school, college or university anywhere in the
world.
V. SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
1. To be eligible, a student must be a member of the current year graduating class.
2. The student must be accepted by the school, college or university he or she
plans to attend, such school, college or university must be accredited by the
State of California or the state in which it is located.
3. The recipient shall not be determined solely by academic standing but should
have at least average grades, 2.80 G.P.A. or above.
4. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must have been active in the Los
Molinos High School Agriculture Programs and must have an agriculture-related
occupational goal in mind.
VI. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Scholarship application forms may be secured from the Counseling Office at Los
Molinos High School. Completed applications must be submitted to the
Counseling Office on or before April 15th of the year of graduation in order for the
applicant to be considered for the award.
VII. DETERMINATION OF RECIPIENTS
1. Sources of Information
All available sources of information concerning each applicant will be considered,
including school records, personal knowledge concerning applicants and
interviews.
2. Evaluation criteria

c. Industry
d. Need
The ability to be benefited by post-secondary education will receive prime
consideration, but all criteria will be considered.
3. Evaluation Procedure
The principal of the Los Molinos High School shall make available all information
concerning each applicant. A meeting of the scholarship committee shall be
held during the month of May. The committee reserves the right to request any
and all applicants to appear for a personal interview.
VIII. SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The committee shall consist of the following:
1. The principal of the Los Molinos High School or his designee.
2. One or more Los Molinos High School Agriculture Teachers.
3. The Los Molinos High School Counselor.
4. A representative of the Ken Brewer family.
5. No grants shall be made to the relatives of any member of the selection
committee.
6. No unilateral decisions will be made by any committee member.
IX. SCHOLARSHIP TERM AND CONDITIONS
1.Scholarship will be granted upon graduation for a term of one year.
2.The amount of the scholarship will be determined annually and will be
dependent upon the amount of funding available and the number of applicants
to be considered.
3.The recipient must carry a normal load (minimum of 12 units).
4.The recipient [s] will be paid in a manner as may be determined by the
committee when the scholarship is awarded.
5.Should a recipient fail or quit school, the award may be given to an alternate
applicant.
6.The scholarship grant must be used in the semester or quarter immediately
following its award.
X. SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE AUTHORITY
The determination of the scholarship recipients shall be made by the Committee in
accordance with the rules above and that committee decisions shall be final.
